nablopomo 2008
Well, I’ve signed up for daily blogging again. I’m glad, though not as excited as I was last year, but hoping that once I get into the groove and meet new bloggers and old friends that that excitement will pick up. This summer I REALLY slacked off, as it seemed many did in my online circle. Now that we’re back to wintry weather – it’s been raining today – and hot chocolate I hope to be blogging more often.
Check in often as I will be posting at least one post each day for the month of November.
No commentsfeeling a bit overwhelmed…
Now that the leg saga has been put to bed, I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed trying to catch up with all the things I haven’t been able to do lately. Such as:
- Finish painting the trim in the living room/hallway
- Weed the back yard
- Finish the touch-up painting in the bathroom
- Finish the freelance website I’m working on
- Work on cover inserts for our binders of MTG and football cards
- Start getting Eric’s online MTG store website functional
- Trim the flowers back for winter
- Plant bulbs for next spring
- Finish the brick work edging in the front yard
Granted, some of these things have been put off for awhile now, but in my defense I had my second car accident this year in early August, then strep throat in early September, then the leg injury in mid September…so my late summer/early fall 2008 has been one physical problem after another. *sigh*
Also, many of these are partially to mostly finished; it’s just a matter of wrapping them up. Nonetheless, it will be nice to cross items off my list so I can play more video games!
No commentsblue bathroom
UPDATE: Pictures are up!
We got creative with paint again; our bathroom is now a bright blue. It looks awesome, especially with our underwater scene shower curtain. We left the ceiling and trim white again, which really stand out against the blue. Pictures to follow soon.
not broken!
My leg is not broken! The MRI results concluded that I have a bad bone bruise, and the “second ankle” growth (see flickr pics) is just a swelled knot of tissue trying to protect and heal the bruising dealt to my leg. So no cast, no more boot…I’m free!
Well, sortof…I’m supposed to take it easy for awhile until the bump goes down and it’s not so sore. No heavy lifting, no sports, no running, no strenuous activity until things improve.
No commentsPowell backs Obama
Retired General Colin Powell (a Republican) announced his intent to vote for Senator Barack Obama in an interview on NBC’s “Meet the Press.” He criticized McCain’s campaign tactics and the Republican party’s tone as a whole. Read more…
No commentsstolen
Someone stole our $8 Obama yard sign. Assholes!
No commentspost-MRI
I went in for my MRI today (I’d never had one before) and things went well, or so the lady said. I will have the results at the end of next week, which doesn’t piss me off that badly since I am not on crutches anymore.
Basically, I had to lie very still on my back and listen to music for 35 minutes while a big, noisy machine rearranged the hydrogen cells in my leg via magnetic force and took pictures. Pretty easy and painless, although my toes got a bit cold even under the blanket.
No commentsmany new pictures
Okay, I added a BUNCH of new pictures to my flickr stream including scenes from:
- the remodeling/refurnishing we did this summer
- my leg injuries
- George being a crazy dog
- Eric’s graduation
Enjoy!
No commentsleg saga progress
I went to a new doctor today because the old one made me feel like a number they were too busy to attend to rather than a name.
Dr. Block is my new favorite person. He put me in a walking boot today; he still isn’t sure it’s an actual fracture (more x-rays came back unconclusive) but we’re doing an MRI on Thursday and I’ll see him next week after the results come back to analyze. The boot is the solution whether it’s a fractured leg or just a severe bone bruise, so he hooked me up now and got me off those damn crutches that I’d been on for over 2 weeks. It’s just glorious; I’ve been impish and positively gleeful ever since. And I haven’t stayed put hardly at all – I just can’t stop chattering or walking around. Is it obvious how happy I am?!
No commentshappy anniversary! and happy birthday, brett favre!
10.9.08 marked 9 years for Eric and I – and well spent they were. Things are going well for us and we enjoyed some rare alone time together by having dinner, shopping, and watching a movie. Kinda cliche, I know, but it was welcome as we have been so busy that another trip somewhere (i.e. the beach, Portland, Bend, etc.) just seemed more exhausting that exciting.
10.10.08 Happy Birthday, Brett Favre! We love you no matter who you play for (unless it’s the Cowboys)!
