things i miss most about college now that i work
- Thinking “I really don’t feel like going today,” and then acting on it.
- Wearing whatever I like, every day.
- Routine intelligent and sometimes philosophical group discussions.
- Leaving when my daily work is done.
- Having a schedule that starts at 10am and ends at 3pm.
boom boom rocket
Think Dance Dance Revolution without the exercise.
The object of Boom Boom Rocket is to explode fireworks in time to classical music that’s been remixed into techno. There are four firework types: Red (right arrow), Yellow (up arrow), Blue (left arrow), and Green (down arrow), and to explode each, just press either of the corresponding buttons. More points are awarded for fireworks exploded closer to (awesome) or directly on (perfect) the purple line about 3/4 from the top of the screen.
Sounds easy, right? I played this game for three solid nights before I even tried Hard difficulty. It took us two nights to get an A* on Easy, and we still don’t have an A on Medium. I do have Bs on two of the Hard difficulty now, though. But on one song – Easy level – I’m ranked 32nd of all who have played. *beam*
Why so hard? As the difficulty goes up, so does the number – and variety – of fireworks. Basically more of the beats of the song have corresponding fireworks, and they begin to use different fireworks for different notes. They also have multiples go off at once.
This game is pretty addicting, and since your score is rated automatically online its easy to want to move up the ranks. Lots of fun for $10, and we’ve definitely gotten our money’s worth.

The Discovery Channel is hosting an 11-part miniseries chronicling the awesomeness of Mother Nature on Sunday nights – Planet Earth. Each hour-long episode is devoted to a specific ecosystem (i.e. deserts, great plains, deep oceans, polar climates, etc.) and displays the grandeur of the landscape as well as the unique and interesting wildlife who brave such areas.
I encourage everyone to watch this cutting-edge documentary. From breathtaking panoramas to enthralling hunt sequences to intimate animal interaction, Planet Earth entertains with stunning videography while advocating for the preservation of this globe we (and so many others) call home.

Just a short note to everyone: Happy Easter!
2007 season underway!
Hey sports fans! Its time for me to break out my mitt and knee pads…city league softball season 2007 is here! From this Friday (our first games) until September I shun clean fingernails and unscathed legs for bruises, scrapes, and head-to-toe dirt. *grin* I can’t wait – practice starts in about an hour. This year I’m playing Mondays for Bats & Badges and Fridays for Guadalajara Grill (both co-ed teams) and then some tournaments over the weekends later in the season. The great thing is that the fields are just down the street from my house…literally less than 2 miles, so while everyone else treks across town and fights traffic, I leave about 10 minutes early and get there with enough time to toss my shoes on and warm up. Its great!
