smokin’ aces
A good action film. Lots of guns. Lots of blood. Glorious amounts of death. And some comedy. Five equally motivated and professional groups converge on one hotel penthouse to take control of one person…some for money, some for knowledge, some for death. We were rooting for kills by the end.
Also, an all-star cast: Ray Liotta, Ben Affleck, Ryan Reynolds, Alicia Keys.
If you want action, I recommend it.
No commentsnew look
So I know flowers and pinkish/purpley colors aren’t the first thing that comes to mind when the image of me pops up, but I kinda like it. As this is just a downloadable look, I’d like to add my own modifications, but I’ve got other things to do.
For now, then, enjoy! And if you have any great ideas for the site, let me know.
No commentsi save the (dog) day
The other day, on my way home early from work due to inclement weather, I found two dogs roaming the main highway (22 west headed to the beach). They were shih tzu-looking things, quite wet and a bit frantic as cars were honking and zipping past them. As they were wearing sweaters, I knew they were someone’s pets and I immediately thought to myself if George were in the same situation, I’d want someone to pick him up. So, I stopped and tried to gather the pups despite traffic impatiently trying to pass. I got one – “Cinnamon,” but the other eluded me and wound up in the park next to the highway.
As I was thinking to take the one to the west Salem vet, I saw two people scoop the other one and start calling for the one in my car, so I (again) got out on the side of the highway, flagged the people down, and gave them their dog. They were quite thankful.
I’m such a good samaritan. Aren’t you proud, Mom?
1 commentfrightful, delightful winter weather
G’head, give me your best global warming pitch. Then tell me why the typically rainy Oregon winter has been replaced this year by sunny skies, unusually cold temperatures, and snow. Yes, snow! We’ve had snow in our backyard for over a week now, and it snowed a skiff more last night. The highs have been in the mid to low 30s, the lows in the 20s and teens.
Personally, this weather rocks. I love everything about snow – the beauty, the cold, the hushed atmosphere, the smell….ahhhh, I’m in heaven. I don’t even mind the icy roads and the extra layers.
I gotta say, making a snowman on my lunch break made my week!
