2 in 1 night

Listen up, sports fans – you’re never going to believe this! I hit 2, count ‘em, 2! home runs tonight at softball. The first in the park home run was in extra innings of our 1st game to help secure a win. The 2nd home run happened in the middle of the 2nd game…it should have been a triple but the shortstop missed the throw from the outfield. Both were beautiful hits; I just unloaded on each pitch with the sweet spot on the bat.

The eerie coincidence? As I was leaving my house for the games, Eric asked me to hit a home run for him (Baseketball style), and I told him I’d hit one for him and George. Then I did.

Summer House Goals

I’ve finally accumulated enough mundane, unexciting events to warrant 20 minutes of blogging – yes, this blog is the dreaded latter from “If you’ve got it, flaunt it. If you don’t, try.”

The weather was absolutely gorgeous this weekend; I couldn’t resist working outside. The backyard is shaping up slowly but surely over the course of several weekends. The hot tub is up and running with all of its necessary chemicals. The weeds have nearly been obliterated. The winter/spring tree debris has been hosed off the cement. The barbeque has been thoroughly cleaned. Once the trees & hedges are in, I think I’ll be nearly happy. I also need a new gazebo roof as ours ripped (shredded is a more appropriate term) in the high winds earlier this year.

In the front yard, the flowers are sprouting and our lawn will finally be one length this mowing (lawn mower and operator problems). All the mud from Kate’s fun high-centering in the mud adventure has been washed out of the driveway (and off our shoes), and TJ’s car runs, but desperately needs new tires.

All of these bits are short- and long-term goals for this summer, and its nice to see them becoming a reality rather than a wish. I almost have a tan out of the deal as well. *grin*

One last thing: Happy Mother’s Day, Mom! *bear hug* I love you!
